 SPENDING MONEY

 Little extra  is required here, but there will be an opportunity for shopping in Arushu, and in some local markets along the way

Note  Although package costs are confirmed,  there are some 'Non-Inclusion' prices such pre and post safari hotels depending upon arrival/ departure times. Since some optional activity prices are quoted well in advance, they  may have undergone some change to the client upon arrival.

YOUR Kilimanjaro Climb PRICE PAYS FOR

• Nairobi airport transfer to hotel

• Pre-climb shuttle  from Nairobi to Arushu, & post-climb shuttle back to Arushu

• Park fees, Camping fees

• Porters, Food (3 meals a day)

•  Guides

• Transport to and from the park gate

•  Water during climbing

• All the camping gear with the exception of sleeping bags and sleeping mat

CLIMBERS are expected to have:

• head lamp (i.e. halogen strap-on)

• suitable hiking clothing (eg. sufficient trousers,  shirts,  underwear, socks, warm jacket, light rain gear, etc. )

• suitable  climbing footwear & poles

            (lighter hiking shoes & appropriate  boots)

•  sun glasses and gloves

• sleeping bag and sleeping mat

ITINERARY

Arrival in  Nairobi (Heron Hotel)  Shuttle to Arusha

 Kili  Day 1  To Kilimanjaro National Park,

 Londorosi gate for permits, then to Lemosho route.

 Trek rainforest to Mkubwa camp (2700 m)

 Kili  Day 2  Slow trekking up Alpine meadows

 with giant Heather trees. Enjoy view at Shira

 campsite  (3465 m)

 Kili  Day 3 Leave Shira 1 slow crossing plateau for

 climbing the Cathedral to Shira 2 campsite  (3840 m)

 Kili  Day 4 Ascent to Lava Tower (4600 m). 

 Time spent at Lava Tower for acclimatization, then

 proceed southern circuit to Baranco Valley (3950 m)

  Kili  Day 5 Shorter Day- Cross the great Baranco wall

 pass. Stay at Karanga Valley, the last water point on

 the Karanga  River.

 Kili  Day 6 Join Mweka route  to Barafu Camp in

 Alpine Desert  (4600 m)

 Kili  Day 7 Nap until 11:30 pm Optional Summit
